The amalgamated battalion, 7th/9th Royal Scots, continued to be known as the Dandy Ninth and served in the Second World War.
Jack Hall makes reference to Captain William Thomson and Private Billy Whitworth, among 25 Royal Scots buried at Bergen-Op-Zoom.
